I bought the Daewoo DSD9520 for a Christmas present. I installed it and as soon as it was switched on the unit started buzzing, which became louder, the longer it was left on - this was without the hard drive operating. Only way to silence it was to place something heavy on top of the unit. Never the less I proceeded to explore the menus etc. After a short time playing with the remote it I found it easy enough to navigate through the different functions, but - wait for it - after only two hours recording the sound on all channels went off and a screen came up saying the hard drive was full! Formatting the drive brought it back to normal, but after recording a couple of progs same thing happened.
We couldn't stand the noise this was making so I returned it and swapped it for another Daewoo DSD9520. When this was set up - it didn't make a noise but had exactly the same problem regarding the hard disc and loss of sound as the first one. I rang the customer service number - perminently engaged - sent email - still waiting. I feel the problem is software related, and no doubt there will be an easy fix - but come on - these things should not leave the factory unless they do what they are supposed to do. Result - I returned the second unit for a full refund.
