      Canon PIXMA iP6220D

      Review summary: Unlike all Canon's previous models, this printer takes an 'HP' approach to print cartridges, using two tri-colour carts to make up its six-ink range, each cartridge having its own built-in print head.

      Pros: Accurate colour rendition, Dazzling images, Longevity, Frugal running costs

      Cons: Slow in top-quality mode, Expensive for mono printing

      Canon Pixma MP170

      Review summary: One of the fastest and best-quality printers on show. The scanner isnâ€(tm)t perfect and there arenâ€(tm)t as many features as the best here, but the MP170 is hard to beat for value.

      Verdict: A useful OCR utility is included along with a set of standard-capacity cartridges, making the $102 price tag exceptionally low. The cost of 97c per 6 x 4in photo is also reasonable, and you can print directly from a camera or memory card thanks to the Pic

      Review : Canon Pixma IP6220D

      Review summary: Often you buy a printer for text with the fact that it can print photos is an extra. With the Canon Pixma IP6220D it's the other way round, this is a excellent photo printer.

      Verdict: The printer can print from most card types directly by opening a door on the left side of the unit to reveal the card slots. It also has a Pict Bridge USB slot to print direct from a range of cameras. Images can be displayed on a 5x4cm screen on the print
