Pros: HDMI cable included, easy to find recordings
Cons: No timeshift function, analogue tuner
Verdict: A good design and delivers on the features it includes. However buyers should be aware of the omissions: time shift of live TV is not supported and the device includes an analogue rather than digital tuner.

Verdict: Sony's RDR-HX725 is a decent recorder held back by a slighted specification. Not having an integrated digital tuner is restrictive and you can expect HDMI connectivity at this price. But it's well constructed, incredibly easy to use and performs capably
