Sony NV-U51G | Our Review | TechRadar UK

Review summary: Weighing 280g, it's not the most portable of devices, but it is stylish and well made

Pros: Verbal instructions are clear; Easy to fit in car

Cons: No good for European destinations; No card reader; Quite large

Verdict: In all, there's a lot to like about the NV- U51G. Once you've mastered the interface, it's quick and easy to use, and directions are accurate. If European mapping is not a requirement, it's also well-priced

Pros: Verbal instructions are clear, Easy to fit in car

Cons: No good for European destinations, No card reader, Quite large

      Sony NV-U51G GPS receiver

      By Stephen Patrick

Review summary: - Sony may not be the first company you think of when considering satnav solutions but it's dabbled in the market over the years, first with a notebook solution, then a PDA version and now with its own range of dedicated devices.

Pros: Good size, great price, quick

      Cons: Poor docking cradle

Verdict: Designed as a TomTom rival, this is an easy-to-use device with a big screen
