Verdict: This isn't the smallest Windows Mobile smartphone around, but it has plenty of features including HSDPA and Wi-Fi. Those interested in mobile e-mail might find it handy, and that trackpad is surprisingly good.
Read Full ReviewReview summary: The i780 is Samsung's latest attempt to loosen BlackBerry's grip on the smart phone market. The handset sports a mini-touchpad instead of a typical D-pad and also boasts HSDPA for high-speed browsing. With impressive battery life, can it take a top spot?
Pros: Good connectivity; great mini-touchpad; good keyboard
Cons: Non-standard power connector; below-par camera; big and bulky
Verdict: We like the i780's mini-trackpad and keyboard, but we're not so keen on its bulky dimensions and we still find Windows Mobile 6 quite awkward to use. If you're a Windows Mobile fan, it's worth a look, but we doubt it'll win over many Blackberry users

Pros: Tri-band GSM, GPRS/EDGE, 3G/HSPDA connectivity, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, Good mini-QWERTY keyboard, Two batteries and separate charger
Cons: Relatively bulky, 2.5in. display
Verdict: With two batteries and a separate charger, the SGH-i780 could be a wise choice for the mobile professional, although it's a bit bulky and the screen is a touch small for some applications.
