      Brother MFC-7840W

Pros: Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, good print quality, highly cost efficient

Cons: No duplex, slow fax, poor image scan quality

Verdict: The MFC-7840W improves on its cheaper counterparts with the addition of Wi-Fi connectivity. However, the extra $100 compared to the MFC-7440N hardly seems justified. This multifunction makes a good printer, but its scanning quality isn't great.

      Brother - MFC-7840W

Review summary: There seems to be a bit of a stampede at present amongst printer manufacturers to produce a new generation of mono laser printers. As Brother is very much at the forefront when it comes to quality ...

Verdict: A solid, speedy and user-friendly compact mono laser printer with good wireless connection and fax facility, let down by comparatively low print quality and a high price tag.
