      Lexmark X2470

      By Robin Morris (PC World)

Pros: Low initial cost, One-touch buttons make it very user-friendly

Cons: Slow, single ink cartridge, barely adequate print quality

Verdict: The X2470 is cheap on paper, but its running costs will stack up in the long run. Add to this the average speed and final quality that fails to match that of similar models and you have an MFD that may struggle to establish itself.

Review summary: In recent years Lexmark has majored on selling into the cheaper end of the market, euphemistically known as entry-level. The company's done very well at it and last year it introduced both a printer and an ...

Verdict: The X2470 is cheap on paper, but its running costs will stack up in the long run. Add to this average speed and final quality that fails to match that of the similarly priced HP PSC 1410, and this is an MFD that will struggle to establish itself as ...

      Review: Lexmark X2470 multi-function device

      By Simon Williams

Review summary: Lexmark takes a second look at rock bottom all-in-one printers and comes up with the X2470.

Pros: Better quality black text print ; Standalone copies of photo prints ; PictBridge connection for cameras

Cons: Text print still not great ; Comparatively high running costs

Verdict: In the middle of last year, Lexmark had an idea for an entry-level all-in-one printer based on a single-cartridge design.
