      Lexmark X342n

      By M. David Stone

Pros: Standalone fax machine and copier. Includes a network connector and a 50-page automatic document feeder.

Cons: No duplexer option. Can't fax from a PC. Clumsy approach to scanning over a network.

Verdict: The Lexmark X342n is a reasonably capable printer, standalone fax machine, and copier. But at this price, it ought to do more than that.

Lexmark X342n laser all-in-one printer Reviews

      By Felisa Yang

Pros: The network-ready Lexmark X342n handled grayscale and color scans decently, as well as grayscale graphics. Its price is also reasonable for a small workgroup or a home office

Cons: The printer's feature menu is frustrating to use ; the printer isn't capable of duplexing, and it stumbles when printing tiny text

Verdict: In a vacuum, the Lexmark X342n looks like a decent all-in-one monochrome laser printer for a small office environment, but ultimately, it loses out to the Dell 1815dn in terms of features and speed.
