      Pros: Beautiful retro styling, powerful, versatile, dedicated headphone amp

      Cons: Heavy enough to destroy an A/V rack (but that's a good thing, right?)

      Review summary: Whilst the CD-S2000 player works well playing CDs, it is much better with SACD

      Pros: Sleek design ; Impressive build quality ; Good value for money ; Decent feature set

      Cons: CD performance can be a bit lacklustre

      Verdict: Consequences of the design are that the volume control has virtually zero tracking error (even at very low volume levels) and the headphone amplifier is also fully isolated and not potted down from the main output
