Camcorder Review: Canon HR10 DVD Camcorder

      By Jay Alexander

Review summary: The HR10 is part of Canon's second generation of AVCHD camcorders attempting to deliver the DVD format for consumers. Using the AVCHD codec, the HR10 takes the next step by giving consumers HD on a DVD. DVD-recordable formats made a big impact on ...

      Canon HR10

Review summary: The silver brushed aluminium shell with bronze detailing looks far more expensive than the price tag would suggest

Pros: Strong pictures ; Impressive sound ; Good array of features ; Solid build-quality

Cons: Optical image stabiliser not very effective ; Awkward fixed viewfinder ; Sluggish close-up focusing

Verdict: Those looking for a portable model that can be carried around in the pocket and whipped out in an instant will find the weight a problem. But for the more serious enthusiast, the heavier chassis makes it easier to hold the cam steady when shooting ...
