Pros: A good starter DV cam for the newbie wanting no frills and ease of use. Good 30x Optical Zoom, very comfortable handling, good recording quality and aimed specifically at the newbie.
Cons: It's a bit basic, even at the price. It's a pity that a 1000x digital zoom is a feature - it has no use whatever!
Verdict: You can pick it real cheap, and is therefore perhaps ideal for the newbie - but may be considered lacking after a short time.

Pros: Ergonomic design. Very comfortable to use. 30x optical zoom.
Cons: 1000x digital zoom is just silly.Poor low-light performance.

Panasonic NV-GS27

- Pros: Good image quality,manual control,colour reproduction
- Cons: Absence of camera bag
GS 27 is an entry level mini DV based camcorder. Panasonic has made it to suit beginners and it does a good job. The inclusion of manual control and focus is commendable. Video quality and colour reproduction is very good.
Good value for money for beginners without compromising on qualitative aspects.

- Pros: price, smallest, very handy, very good pictures.
- Cons: it looks slightly tacky from the side of the lcd screen.
Excellent product for the price and the pictures are brilliant.
It is very handy and as small as some of the larger digital cameras.

- Pros: super 30x optical zoom, you get what you paid for
- Cons: no extra goodies
This is excellent video camcorder for making home videos if you don't want to make very much editing.
You really get what you paid for, but there is no extra goodies also. But everuthing is working very good and you can use the camcorder with one hand only.
If you want to take full advantage about 30x optical zoom you need to buy camera stand.
Best choice for about 300 euros price!
