Samsung HR773 is a waste of good money.

  • Cons: No timeshift, Poor display of information, not userfriendly.

This device claims to have timeshift function, which is false. Pressing the timeshift button only gives you a Not available symbol, always.

There is no On Screen Display of remaining time, and time elapsed when recording on DVD or HDD. You can not search in a current HDD recording, you just have to wait until the recording is done, before you can view it properly.

It's weird that the technology of this device is so poor. I compared it to a much cheaper device from Daewoo, which is more than 2 years old, and Daewoo does have all the above features, Samsung does not.

This device would have been state of the art in the 1970's, but now it's 2009 and Samsung HR773 (and probably all other devices from Samsung) is outdated by almost 40 years.
