      Cons: Not the easiest to set-up

      Review summary: The GPS revolution is great, but there are still many people who get lost on foot as well as in the car. While you could, in theory, pack a TomTom in your slacks, you'd be sporting the kind of bulge that would clear a shopping precinct in seconds.

      Pros: Bright clear screen, Pedestrian-friendly screen, Eminently affordable

      Cons: A bit too quiet, Small

      Verdict: This is a very impressive bit of kit - and crucially, it won't ruin the line of your suit

      Review summary: There's no doubt that the GPS has been the single most important weapon in the battle against losing yourself. Unfortunately, with GPS kits themselves shrinking to nanoscopic sizes - and there's no better example of this than the Acer e310

      Pros: Very compact, Affordable, Surprisingly good reception

      Cons: Poor speaker volume

      Verdict: Feature packed and utterly affordable, this is an excellent compact GPS device
