Garmin GPS 72

  • Pros: Low power consumption
  • Cons: Only 2 AA batteries, always carry spares with you.

I have had this GPs for about three years now. I like the fact that it uses standard Garmin menus. Get on any boat with a fitted Garmin and you'd probably find the menus work the same. This makes it handy to practise GPS navigation at home whilst wlaking up and down the street and finding out about all Garmin Features. Much better than doing it aboard a boat when you have other things to do.

I love this GPS and after 3 years I can safely say that if I lost it tomorrow, I will go out and buy the exact same again.

Also use it for dinghy sailing and connected it once to my computer for road navigation purposes driving through africa.

Very usefull is the fact that it floats in water as there is really no point having a waterproof device that sinks.
