      Garmin nuvi 250W

      By Mark Harris

Review summary: The Garmin nuvi 250W is a slim, entry-level sat-nav offering UK and European mapping plus safety cameras, but little in the way of extras. It's simple and easy to use, though, and gives reliable directions and useful points of interest

Pros: Big, colourful screen ; good search and points of interest ; clear voice

Cons: Weak GPS ; no traffic info ; can't update software

Verdict: An entry-level navigator that benefits from a superb screen, comprehensive European mapping and excellent search functions. Only exclusively urban motorists should worry about the fussy GPS reception. The cheaper nuvi 200W is also available with maps ...

      Garmin Nuvi 250 (silver) review

      By Bonnie Cha

Pros: The Garmin Nuvi 200 boasts a compact design and is easy to use. It offers accurate directions and some nice tools for the traveler.

Cons: Though the Nuvi 200 is more affordable than other models in the series, we wish the price was slightly lower based on the included feature set.

Verdict: The Garmin Nuvi 200 series offers drivers and travelers a more budget-friendly version of the popular portable navigation devices, but we think the price is still slightly high for what you get.

Pros: Familiar Garmin menu system. Preloaded with maps. Includes some travel kit features

Cons: No text-to-speech conversion. Less-sensitive GPS receiver than the 300 series

Verdict: Even for $100 less than the much more capable nüvi 350, the nüvi 250 may not be that great a value.
