      Garmin Nuvi 610 review

      By Rosemary Haworth

Review summary: The Garmin Nuvi 610 satnav is an unassuming but well-featured GPS device.

Verdict: The Garmin Nuvi 610 satnav was slower and less responsive than some we've tried, but it covers all bases, feature-wise and is a solid model.

    Garmin Nuvi 610

Garmin Nuvi 610 By Terry Ashworth (14/10/2007)
    • Pros: Traffic master, Large Screen
    • Cons: Maps not as upto date as Tomtom

Just changed to the T610 after having 2 Tomtom One v3. Both had problems with the Map Share system. The 610 works very well and is fast to lock on satalites. Read Full Review »

    not for the price

Garmin Nuvi 610 By paul newt (03/10/2007)
    • Pros: wide screen, plenty of extras ie bluetooth and travel information
    • Cons: unrelible and slow

this is my third sat nav due to theft and damage and it is the worst one of all.
i had a cheap evesham from asda which performed adequately but due to theft i decided to upgrade to a unit with bluetooth and supposedly better quality.
it sometimes takes up to twenty minutes to locate satelites and also takes you off motorways and back on again at the same roundabout.
i rated accuracy and ease of us... Read Full Review »

    Great GPS device

Garmin Nuvi 610 By Anonymous (30/03/2007)
    • Pros: Slim design, includes traffic management info for life of product
    • Cons: No text-to-speech, menu system could be clearer, manual on CD-ROM only

Device is well built, as are all the included accessories.

Software is fairly straightforward, but I would recommend playing around with it before planning any travel (awkwardly, the manual is on CD-ROM, so you need to boot up your PC).

Routes are calculate quickly. A great device for use in the UK and Ireland. Read Full Review »
