Garmin Nuvi 660
Review summary: The nuvi attaches to the windscreen using an adjustable ball joint system
Pros: SiRF Star III GPS chipset ; Suction cup mount
Cons: Internal speaker
Verdict: With all these plusses, the nuvi is certainly a very attractive buy, but at £399 it costs the same as the TomTom 910. So which should you buy? We would say the TomTom - both devices are very expensive, but the 910's maps cover a wider area. It's a ...

Garmin Nuvi 660

- Pros: Clear and accurate, fully updatable.
- Cons: Annoying non-QWERTY keypad for manual input of addresses.
I have owned the 660 for a year now and have enjoyed flawless use in 10 countries from the UK to Latvia. It has not got me lost once yet.
The touchscreen interface is very intuitive and even my technophobic wife can handle it. The bluetooth telephone facility was the reason that I chose this unit and I have not been disappointed - I have used over half a dozen models with the available connection...

- Pros: European map coverage, traffic alerts, European camera alerts
- Cons: As with all sat navs, can take you a non logical way.
Fantastic product. Can find you pretty much anything you want e.g. restaurant, petrol station, bank etc. If there is traffic ahead it will automatically suggest an alternative route.
My second sat nav (used to have the Road Angel Navigator) beats the pants out of that!

- Pros: Great to have.
- Cons: Not loud enough, sucker does not stay stuck to the window screen
I feel that it should be able to have a louder volume, as in high noise not able to hear clearly.
Tends to take you the long way round sometime or back roads.
