      Garmin Oregon 550t GPS system

      By Stuart Miles

Review summary: Will put you in the geocaching picture?

Pros: Easy to use, built-in camera, improved screen, more waypoints, more routes

Cons: Expensive, screen not totally visible in bright sun

Verdict: In our 400t review we whinged that the screen was too dull. Garmin have addressed this, so it only seems fair for us to up the score from an 8 to a 9 for this model

Garmin StreetPilot c550, a review of the Garmin StreetPilot c550

      By Rich Malloy

Review summary: This high-end device combines handy features with a simple interface.

Cons: Memory: 670MB RAM, Size: 4.4 x 3.2 x 2.8 inches, , , , , , , This is the reason to spend more for a GPS device. Not the Bluetooth connectivity, MP3 player, or integrated traffic receiver (three months free subscription)-which are nice to have-but the ...

      Garmin Street Pilot C550 satnav

      By T3 Online

Review summary: Garmin's latest is no mere TomTom RipOff

Pros: Free traffic alerts; Well-implemented Bluetooth features

Cons: The usual bland satnav looks; Ill-fitting lighter-socket adaptor

Verdict: This satnav from Garmin achieves the improbable - rivalling the TomTom 910 for all-round excellence

    garmin street pilot 550

Garmin StreetPilot C550 By Anonymous (19/05/2007)
    • Pros: very accurate 99% of the time
    • Cons: did not recognise new developments(This i feel will be common to all)

We bought this model on recomendation from the salesman and have not been disapointed. We used it around home to check it's accuracy. Excellent.
We then used it to go to a family wedding. It got us there and back, to the church and also to the local ammenities.
We normaly have a difference of opinion when map reading the Garmin saved a lot of time and frustration.
Well worth the money. The blu... Read Full Review »

    Garmin streetpilot c510

Garmin StreetPilot C550 By robin pearce (24/01/2007)
    • Pros: None I can think of
    • Cons: see below

    Downsides are:

    1) It's only possible to enter one 'via point' on a journey. A minimum of two is req'd to avoid the unit taking one through congestion prone areas of large cities etc.

    2) If you're indoors & it asks the question 'poor reception are you indoors' & you reply yes you are in doors, then enter a route, when you go outside you have to turn it off then on aga... Read Full Review »

Garmin StreetPilot C550 By Vicki Wilson (09/11/2006)
    • Pros: quick, easy and straightforward to use
    • Cons: on one route did not take me the quick way

This is a brilliant first sat nav. I have started a new job which meant i had to travel to places i have never travelled to before. It has taken the worry out of where am I going, its really easy to use and the features and benefits of this system are ideal for what it describes that it does. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. One bit of advice have a couple of practices before your ... Read Full Review »
