  • Pros: None I can think of
  • Cons: see below

Downsides are:

1) It's only possible to enter one 'via point' on a journey. A minimum of two is req'd to avoid the unit taking one through congestion prone areas of large cities etc.

2) If you're indoors & it asks the question 'poor reception are you indoors' & you reply yes you are in doors, then enter a route, when you go outside you have to turn it off then on again to make it seek satellites, otherwise it still thinks it's indoors !

3) It doesn't show final destination of your route.
Too many key strokes to go to browse map to find out what the final destination is.

4) I saved a route then opened up it up & it didn't include the 'via point' I'd entered as part of that route.

5) Not possible to delete individual recently found locations.

6) Display of 'miles gone from start' & 'miles to go to destination' should be clearer/larger.

7) Too many keystrokes req'd to change navigation from 'fastest' route to 'shortest distance' route or vica versa. It would be good if it always displayed which type of navigation is selected.

8) Why does the thing keep asking me the country of the address I want to go to! Very annoying. It's a sat nav isn't it. It already knows which country it's in or which country it was in when last switched on. It should assume the destination is in the country it's already in, unless I tell it otherwise.

Up sides are:

1) Probably other makes & models of sat navs have irritating flaws in the design of the software.

2) Customer support better than that of Tomtom, but then it probably needs to be.
