      TomTom Go 710

Review summary: Possibly recognised as one of the most popular names in sat-nav at the moment, TomTom has released a number of devices aimed specifically at the in-car user. The TomTom Go 710 certainly is a hefty unit

Pros: Clutter-free setup, Plenty of optional extras

Cons: Pricey, Add-on bits will be attractive to thieves

Verdict: Designed for in-car use only, it's a large handset, but works reasonably well

    Useful partner in Europe

TomTom GO 710 By Anonymous (27/03/2007)
    • Pros: accurate in UK and Europe
    • Cons: tends to freeze now and again

I bought my GO710 for £399.00 which hurt much, but it was money well spent. I use it when I travel to Italy, and could not do without my TomTom. I only experience significant signal loss in Switzerland (due to long tunnels), otherwise no signal problems. It only froze once, when trying to update from my gprs phone, but then connected to my computer, and reset it. It works perfect I love it! Read Full Review »

    Better than Bruce Bruce!

TomTom GO 710 By Anonymous (05/03/2007)
    • Pros: Easy to use
    • Cons: Poor manual, website & after-sales service.

I had an built-in-car sat nav system prior to buying my 710 and I am very pleased with the change-over. The maps are better, the directions are more clearly displayed and the overall performance is much better.

The problem is the manual is unhelpful, the website is confusing for maintaining information and is used by TomTom to sell additional services not support customers. The telephone helpline... Read Full Review »

    tomtom 500

TomTom GO 710 By Anonymous (07/02/2007)
    • Pros: very good machine
    • Cons: very poor aftersales service

The product itself is excellent, however, the aftersales service is very poor as you cannot get a straight answer or buy updates other than online which is preventative to some people who do not have access to the internet i.e. my parents Read Full Review »
