Humax LP32-TDR1

Pros: Built-in PVR and digital tuner. Smart looks. Decent performance

Humax LP32-TDR1
Review summary: The Humax 32in LP32-TDR1 comes with a built-in hard disk drive (HDD) and two digital TV tuners
Pros: Novel concept, Good standard-def pictures
Cons: Only one HDMI, Restrictive Freeview tuner defaults
Verdict: In the all-important picture department, the LP32-TDR1 puts in a credible hi-def performance, but nothing to rival the frontrunners in this class

Humax LP32-TDR1 LCD television
By Paul Lester
Review summary: - Humax has produced some of the more successful PVRs over the last year so it's no real surprise to see the name behind the feature-rich LP32-TDR1. This 32" LCD is most notable for the inclusion of a built in PVR sporting a generous 160GB hard drive ...
Pros: Impressive performance from the digital tuner, PVR integrates well, decent range of features
Cons: High definition and audio performance could be better, no twin-tuner capabilities for synchronised recording / time-shifting
Verdict: Those choosy about performance might find the LP32 a little lacking, but in terms of offering a nice range of features for the average standard definition user it

Humax LP32-TDR1
By Ian Morris
Review summary: Humax has gone one step further than most manufacturers by adding a whole PVR into its latest bargain 32-inch LCD TV. With the LP32-TDR1, you can record your favourite shows straight to its built-in hard disk
Pros: Built-in PVR ; standard-definition picture quality ; ease of use ; price
Cons: HD picture is a little lacking ; twin tuner receiver is slightly limited ; poor viewing angle
Verdict: A good budget television for people who want an LCD for standard-definition TV but aren't too bothered about high-definition material. The built-in Freeview PVR is an added bonus that will make it attractive to those who want an all-in-one system

By ANDREW KELLY (31/03/2007)
- Pros: Smart looking TV with good picture & sound
- Cons: Picture freezes on digital TV. Recordings fail.
On paper this TV is the business, with 2 digital tuners and a host of inputs.
When watching digital TV, the picture freezes about 3 times a week and the set has to be switched off and on again. Of course any recording taking place is lost. The EPG needs you to tune to each channel in order to use it. Crazy! The analogue TV system seems fault free.
Humax have software updates for their standalon...

- Pros: Nice picture
- Cons: Awful software
Good picture and fairly good reception on analogue & digital tuners. That's about it .
The software is awful - full of bugs. We re-boot at least every day when it locks-up.
Text doesn't work when the sound is muted.
It failed to record anything on new year's eve despite what we scheduled!
It has only a fraction of the features of a stand-alone PVR - the program guide (EPG) is 1 ...

- Pros: Easy recording facility
- Cons: Disappointing electronic programme guide
We were not really in the market for a new TV but what persuaded us was the specification for a good price when compared to other tv's.
The picture quality is very good, blacks can be a little patchy if the general background colour of the picture is dark however I believe that this is not an uncommen problem with LCD televisions and does not really affect your veiwing pleasure.
The recording ...
