      Sony KDL-40S2530

Review summary: This new TV from Sony boasts some impressive features for an entry-level TV

Pros: Connectivity, Contrast ratio, Features, Black levels

Cons: Colours subdued with some smearing, Could do with some improvement overall

Verdict: For all its good points, we can't shake the feeling that while the KDL-40S2530 improves on its predecessor, it doesn't quite go far enough to mix it with some of the latest LCD heroes from such brands as Philips and Panasonic

      Sony KDL-40S2530

Review summary: Impressive though Sony's recent Bravia LCD TV range has been, some models haven't been perfect. So it's good to see Sony taking some of the criticisms on board in putting together the KDL-40S2530

Pros: Connectivity, Contrast ratio, Features, Black levels

Cons: Colours subdued with some smearing, Could do with some improvement overall

Verdict: Sony's revamp of its entry level range delivers worthwhile results

      Sony KDL32S2530

Review summary: From the front it's hard to tell the KDL-32S2530 apart from the KDL-32S2000, as they're both attractive in their thin, nearly-black bezels

Pros: Impressive picture sharpness, 2 HDMI ports, Good price

Cons: Colours sometimes look a bit unreal

Verdict: Sony's KDL-32S2530 is a worthy improvement over what was already a good TV selling for a pleasingly approachable price

      Sony KDL-32S2530

Review summary: Much as we've liked the Sony Bravia TVs that have come our way so far, they haven't been completely flawless. So we're only too pleased to get our hands on a sort of 'S-series Bravia MkII' in the shape of the KDL-32S2530

Pros: Impressive picture sharpness, 2 HDMI ports, Good price

Cons: Colours sometimes look a bit unreal

Verdict: This 32in LCD TV is a 'kind of' upgrade to Sony's entry-level Bravia series with improvements that are hard to dislike

    Best in its class.

    Sony KDL-32S2530 By Anonymous (14/04/2007)
    • Pros: Excellent performance and build quality.
    • Cons: Not the cheapest.

With so many LCD TVs on the market and several manufacturers offering a choice of several variations of their 32" model, it's very easy to become jaded. After being advised against buying the entry-level Sony 32" model (the U-Series) and having been tempted by the cheaper Samsung offering, I decided to wait for a while before buying. This S-Series unexpectedly dropped in price, and s... Read Full Review »
