      Review summary: My first color TV was a Trinitron, and I spent the extra money because I knew the Sony name meant quality.

      Verdict: This display can also accept the optional Internet Video Link. It plugs into the back of the set and uses a broadband connection to stream online content. I didn't have one to try out but have seen it demonstrated, and the setup is pretty hassle-free

      Pros: Smooth 1080p/24 handling without internal conversion nor interpolation ; Excellent shadow detail delineation ; Exquisite high-definition detail from [Full Pixel] 1:1 mapping

      Cons: Calibrated black level not as deep as W3000/ X3500/ Samsung M86/ F86 ; Undefeatable auto-dimming when screen is black/ near-black ; Lacks white balance controls in user menu for greyscale calibration

      Verdict: Sony KDL40V3000 is an above average LCD television whose biggest appeal is its relatively inexpensive price (for a full HD Sony LCD TV).

      How To Buy an LCD HDTV

      Review summary: It's rare to find an HDTV at any price that delivers near-accurate color right out of the box, but the 46-inch Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 did exactly that. The set further impressed me with its ink-like black levels and dark screen material that together ...

      Pros: Superb color accuracy. Impressive image contrast.

      Cons: Considerable smearing in motion scenes. Narrow viewing sweet spot. Film-mode detection was inconsistent. Excessive overscan with standard definition and component 720p video.

      Verdict: Sony's Bravia KDL-46V3000 delivered the best out-of-box color I've seen from any HDTV, but unacceptable image blurring when displaying dark scenes as well as a narrow viewing sweet spot make it difficult to recommend.
