Sony KDL-40W2000
Review summary: Sony continues to try and make up for lost time in the LCD stakes
Pros: Black levels, General picture performance, Features
Cons: Some motion problems, Only average audio
Verdict: The most obviously noteworthy aspect of the Sony's picture performance is its way with blacks. Rendering the very lowest reaches of the darker end of the spectrum convincingly has thwarted many an LCD screen, but this Sony seems to have cracked this ...

By Colin Tang
Review summary: If you don't already know what BRAVIA is all about, then you have probably missed the whole point of Sony's bouncy balls and paint explosion adverts. With a slogan like "Colour like.no.other", the multi-award-winning BRAVIA is Sony's brand in ...
Pros: 1080p capable display ; 1080p HDMI input ; Blacks above average with good shadow detail ; Excellent contrast ratio post calibration ; Minimal digital noise ; Bright images, sharp 1080 resolution and no reflections off screen ; Sharp 1:1 full pixel ...
Cons: Clouding (in our review model) affected black level appreciation ; Slight motion blurring ; Inaccurate primary colours ; Grayscale controls in service menu not per input ; No grayscale controls in user menu ; No USB or multimedia memory readers ; ...
Verdict: Sony's strong performance in the 1080p LCD market is a testament to their conviction that LCD will become the dominant display technology. They have put all their eggs into one basket and it looks like its paying off. Judging from what we have seen, ...

Sony KDL-40W2000
By Dice McQuade (26/12/2007)
- Pros: Brilliant TV, great picture, nice looking
- Cons: Little more programme info on the EPG
I'm really over the moon with this TV, I was going to go Plasma but decided against it. Did alot of research on the product. Managed to see it in action in a local Comet store, and that made my mind up, it's was great with just the freeview. Picture is fantastic, black is black, no motion blur. I've got an upscaling DVD and that gives a great picture. Sound is fine, set up was easy, t...

Sony KDL-40W2000
By STEWART ROBINSON (24/11/2007)
- Pros: Sensational picture, great features, easy set-up, amazing tv
- Cons: Doesn't make the tea!
The best 40" LCD TV you can buy for under £850. Nothing comes close for value for money. A must buy if you cannot afford the latest model which is over £400 more.

Sony KDL-40W2000
By RICHARD HEAYES (22/11/2007)
- Pros: Top quality now at a great price
- Cons: Needs a bit of set up
If you have read any reviews on this TV you will know that it was voted one of the best in the world over a year ago. It is full HD 1080p and has great build quality. You can always tell how much thought goes into a product by looking at the small details. The way the box is designed when you unpack it, the feel of the buttons etc.
The TV can produce a fantastic picture but does need a few chang...

Sony KDL-40W2000
By Anonymous (16/05/2007)
- Pros: Picture quality, ease of use, style
- Cons: Sound
Fantastic TV. Picture quality is superb even on a standard Sky broadcast. I have several plasma screens and smaller LCD screens but this Sony Bravia is as good as the plasma, and in some ways better. It doesn't use as much electricity, it's easier to move around as it's far lighter than a Plasma of the same size. My biggest concern about buying a large LCD was the colour. As some LCD s...
