      T-Mobile BlackBerry Pearl 8120, a review of T-Mobile BlackBery Pearl 8120

      By Todd Haselton

Review summary: A compact and multimedia friendly smart phone that can make unlimited calls over Wi-Fi.

Pros: Includes instant messaging clients, Wi-Fi-calling capability, Superior battery life, 3.5mm stereo jack, Includes instant messaging clients

Cons: Some calls didn't connect, Browser doesn't automatically switch between EDGE and Wi-Fi, Mediocre camcorder, No GPS

Verdict: If you're not under a contract, we suggest that you consider either Verizon Wireless' EV-DO enabled Pearl 8130 ($199), which offers faster data speeds without relying on Wi-Fi, or the even more affordable BlackBerry Curve 8310 from AT&T ($149 as of ...

RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120 - titanium (T-Mobile) review

Pros: The RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120 brings integrated Wi-Fi and works with T-Mobile's HotSpot@Home service. The compact smartphone also has an improved Web browser and a 2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities.

Cons: The Pearl 8120's SureType keyboard requires a learning curve, and the camera's video quality is poor. It also lacks integrated GPS.

Verdict: The RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120 is slim enough to fit into a pants pocket or a small purse.

      BlackBerry Pearl 8120

      By Rohan Naravane

Review summary: One of the latest entrants in the Pearl series of smart-phones by the popular Canadian manufacturer.

Pros: Slender body, Intuitive UI, Fast data transfers, Wi-Fi, Solid battery life

Cons: No memory card bundled, Expensive

Verdict: The usefulness of a BB device is achieved, when you use it with a BB data Plan. You have just reviewed the phone per se. Try using the E61 with BBC and BB data Plan and then using a BB device with BB data Plan. You will stop thinking why and whether ...

BlackBerry Pearl 8120 - Phone Reviews by Mobile Tech Review

      By Lisa Gade

Review summary: It might be said that the original Pearl marked when BlackBerry got its cool. The Pearl was slim, shiny and sexy yet smart. Gone were the days when RIM devices were wide-load, plasticy appendages found on a businessman's belt. This was the populist ...

Pros: Great looks, incredibly light and quite small. Responsive and stable. The usual excellent push email is compelling if you're an email addict or messaging type. Bright and sharp display, excellent sound quality in call and for music playback through ...

Cons: Battery life could be better. Media player doesn't handle higher quality encoded video easily. Still no 3G. SureType may be hard to adjust to if you've been a full-QWERTY keyboard phone user

Verdict: A nice update to the wildly popular Pearl that should extend the line's life another year. RIM fixed the niggles we had with the first version-- namely moving the microSD card slot out from under the battery, tweaking SureType prediction, enhancing ...
