      RIM BlackBerry Curve 8310

      By Jamie Lendino

Review summary: AT&T's BlackBerry 8300 Curve wasn't exactly long in the tooth, having been on the market for mere months. Still, once T-Mobile launched the 8320 Curve, a superior version that makes calls over Wi-Fi, it was clear that AT&T had to do something to stay ...

Pros: Beautiful design. Comfortable keyboard and trackball. Best-in-class e-mail handling. Built-in GPS and optional TeleNav app.

Cons: No 3G or Wi-Fi support. Slow GPS lock-in. Traffic reporting needs work.

Verdict: Research in Motion takes the already excellent BlackBerry Curve 8300 and adds GPS. It's still one of the best smartphones out there despite a lack of fast data options.

      RIM BlackBerry Curve 8310 - red (AT&T)

      By Bonnie Cha

Pros: The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8310 adds GPS capabilities to the already impressive and sleek messaging smartphone. You also get a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and good call quality.

Cons: The Curve 8310 doesn't offer Wi-Fi or 3G support. The Web browser isn't the sleekest, and the camera lacks video-recording capabilities. Also, unlike the T-Mobile version, you only get the proprietary BlackBerry Messenger IM client.

Verdict: Still offering an attractive design and excellent messaging capabilities, the addition of GPS makes the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8310 an even more attractive choice for road warriors.
