      Pros: Beautiful display. Integrated GPS ideal for business travelers in new cities. Easy email setup wizard and full QWERTY keyboard means you're always connected to the office. Long battery life for such a large device.

      Cons: No Wi-Fi or 3G web connection. Phone's shape makes gripping it awkward. Call quality is sometimes muddled. Media player seems like an afterthought. Non-intuitive menus make transferring music and video a pain. Those with sausage fingers will have ...

      Product Reviews: BlackBerry 8800

      Review summary: Available in the UAE from Etisalat (and different suppliers in other Gulf territories), the new BlackBerry 8800 closely resembles the 8100 'Pearl' we reviewed earlier this year ' both in terms of looks and its feature set.

      Pros: Most will find the OS easy-to-use, larger keyboard.

      Cons: No 3G, smudgy screen, little new added, scrawly inbox font, no digicam.

      Verdict: As useable and feature-packed as the Pearl, although its Maps function needs addressing for the Middle East region.
