      HTC - Magic

Review summary: Google's Android platform for smartphones has generated a great deal of interest but the UK has had just one device to play with until now. T-Mobile launched the platform with its G1 last year, and now ...

Verdict: The HTC Magic is a big step forward from the G1. We want more synchronisation options next time around, but we really like what we see here.

      HTC Magic

Review summary: The HTC Magic is an Android smart phone with 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen and 320x480-pixel resolution. It has a range of radios, includes 3G, HSDPA, quad-band GSM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth A2DP and GPS. Plus there's a user replaceable battery, microSD card ...

Verdict: HTC might not have made a true iPhone killer, but the Magic could certainly rough it up a bit and leave it bleeding in an alleyway. Well worth a look if you live your life through Google goggles.

Cons: No 3.5mm headphone socket and the camera needs a flash

Verdict: The Magic is a great phone and one you'll still be happy using in 18 months' time
