      Review summary: If Samsung keep producing music phones like the i450, with Bang & Olufsen audio hardware, then Sony Ericsson's dominance of music-focused mobiles may come to an abrupt halt.

      Pros: Bang & Olufsen audio hardware ; S60 platform ; funky music player interface ; HSDPA ; bundled 1GB microSD card

      Cons: Touch wheel is a bit tricky to use ; no Wi-Fi ; not the sexiest handset around

      Verdict: Sliding the i450 open to reveal its recessed keypad did little to raise our opinion; a flat plastic layer with numbers defined by tiny raised strips. It was only when we slid the body in the opposite direction that we encountered the first of many ...

      Samsung i450

      Review summary: THE i450 is solid but not outstanding, and the touch-sensitive scroll wheel lacks responsiveness.

      Pros: Symbian OS, excellent keypad and controls, decent features list, 3.5mm headphone jack

      Cons: Touch-sensitive scroll wheel not responsive enough, slider doesn't feel solid enough, hands-free headset is proprietary, low-quality camera

      Verdict: The i450 is solid but not outstanding. The touch-sensitive scroll wheel has the potential to become an excellent control method, but currently isn't responsive enough.
