      Samsung X830

      By Andrew Lim

      Pros: Scroll wheel ; 1GB on-board memory

Cons: Lack of expandable memory slot ; narrow screen and keypad

Verdict: The X830 is a passable MP3 player, but it's too narrow to use as a mobile phone. Texting and dialling aren't easy and the small screen makes using some of the functions difficult. The 1GB of on-board memory and scroll wheel make it worth checking out, ...

Cons: Unusual keypad layout, keys located in two columns ; Bad location of the built-in camera lens ; Unstable construction of the swivel hinge mechanism ; No memory card slot ; No email client ; Low quality of retail package headphones ; Software issues

Verdict: The topic of the this year’s Christmas time when it comes to mobile communications was clearly the music player capabilities of mobile phones. After the music-oriented models such as 5200 and 5300, the specially designed smart phones such as 3250 ...

      Samsung SGH-X830

      By Sandra Vogel

Review summary: Samsung's scroll-wheel equipped, rotating SGH-X830 will catch the eye, and ear, of music fans.

Verdict: Serious compromises have been made here and they'll make or break your decision to like or loathe this handset. If you want a phone that can handle web browsing and display a detailed calendar view, then this isn't going to suit you. But if you want ...
