      Apple iPod Nano (4th generation)

      By Ella Morton

Review summary: Apple has set the Nano back on track with the thinnest, lightest design yet, and has features that are hard to ignore.

Dangerously-slim player is the best non-touchscreen iPod yet

Review summary: The fourth-generation iPod nano is a solid upgrade, offering useful new features, an improved interface and menu system, and a return to tall-and-narrow design. And despite its slight size, it's passed the iPod classic as the most feature-rich non ...

Pros: More features than the iPod classic; most capacious nano yet; more features than the iPod classic; Genius feature works directly on iPod; better-than-estimated battery life; Spoken Menus and larger menu fonts improve accessibility; improved interface ...

Cons: New shape has its drawbacks, including sharp top edges and (especially) corners ; odd landscape-mode controls ; doesn't charge from some older accessories ; Spoken Menus doesn't cover all menus and has the same occasional pronunciation issues as ...

      By Jacqui Cheng

Review summary: The newest iPod nano doesn't just come in a rainbow of colors; it also comes with a handful of new features that actually make it much more than a standard bump to the iPod line. Ars reviews the fourth-generation iPod nano, giving you our take on ...

Verdict: The screen, as you can see, is much bigger now in the new nano. In fact, it's the exact same size and resolution screen (two inches diagonally, 320x240 at 204ppi) as the one in the let's-never-speak-of-it-again 3G iPod nano, but turned vertically. We ...

      By Mark Brezinski

Review summary: The iPod Nano has undergone quite a transformation since it was first released. The last iteration was short, squat, and obliterated the iPod Mini from existence. The new Nano is ridiculously small and thin, and somehow manages to fit an accelerometer ...

Pros: Cute, durable, portable, and supports a lot of files ; Good controls. The screen and battery life are impressive for a device this size ; Simple, intuitive layout, all basics covered.; Good sorting options, easy to use, better scroll wheel than the ...

Cons: If you're sick of the way iPods look, the redesign won't do much to win you over ; Most people would rather have a mediocre large screen than a tiny one.; Not much covered besides basics ; Scroll wheels are only good for short lists, and the Nano ...

Verdict: Conclusion When we first looked at the Nano, we just assumed it was a flashy gadget that would favor stylish looks and a slim silhouette over functionality. It surprised us, however. While the Nano can't compete with smart phones, we couldn't help but ...
