Pros: New deisgn, new interface, better games and extras, and video.
Cons: itunes reliable, expensive tracks,carry case/polish cloth not included

when I purchased my first nano (1st gen) I thought I had hit the jackpot, fitted into my pocket well, didn't snap once, sound quality was good, and portability was a point I was heading for. Then I scratched it up, and found the 3rd gen was available, this device is truely useful, sound quality itself is dependant on the headphones you purchase, but the data sent from the device is great! It's incridblely light, but some may see it as fragile and wish to protect it, in which case I'd recommend a carry case, essentially, a new interface, new design, video available, better games. This can be a real treat and good investment, but I do have to agree itunes can let ipod products down with over charging, and this product is designed for holding m4a files from itunes.
Apple made this device simple for anyone to use.
