Review: Apple iPod Nano portable media player

      By Cliff Joseph

Review summary: A new slimline design leads Apple's charge into Christmas

Pros: Attractive slimline design ; motion sensors

Cons: A little more expensive than rival models ; 16GB storage won't be enough for some

Verdict: Stylishly designed and versatile music player that still sets the standard for its rivals

      Apple iPod Nano

      By Joe Brown

Review summary: Here's a hard truth: Even if Apple decided to carve its new Nano out of petrified poo and bless it with a Braille display, the interface alone would still make Cupertino's latest flash-based music player leagues better than the competition. So what's ...

Pros: Enough colors to make you second guess dropping that third hit of acid before hitting the Apple store. Up to 16 gigs of storage. On the fly Genius (should be called Lazy) Playlists let you quickly suit your music mood. Energy saver mode is clutch. 8 ...

Verdict: If you are looking for a new media player, the fourth-generation iPod Nano certainly merits consideration, but if you already own an Nano - especially a third-generation one - you may want to think twice before upgrading.

      By Nick Mediati

Review summary: The latest iPod Nano combines the larger screen of the third-generation Nano with the slender design and vibrant colors of the second-generation models. Taken as a whole, the fourth-generation iPod Nano marks the further evolution of an already-strong ...

Pros: Very slim and lightweight Voice recording support

Cons: No FM tuner Must rotate unit on side to watch video

Verdict: Once again, Apple put together a great media player with the new iPod Nano. New/old shape aside, however, it is a fairly minor update with only a couple of interesting new features. But like iTunes 8, the new iPod Nano doesn't venture far into ...
