      Samsung YP-K3

      By Nate Lanxon

Review summary: Samsung's YP-K3 is a slim and stylish MP3 player with a touch-sensitive interface and a seamless design. If you only want to carry a couple of hundred songs around it's a desirable option that won't break the bank

Pros: Great design ; lightweight ; fresh control system ; simple and efficient to use ; easy-to-use PC software

Cons: Picks up finger marks ; no AC adaptor ; no album art support ; low-resolution screen

Verdict: A stylish, lightweight and functional player but we would love to see a sharper screen and support for album art

      Samsung YP-K3 (4GB, green)

Pros: The Samsung YP-K3 is very attractive and simple to use, and it's priced competitively. It also has intuitive menus, a speedy interface, and above-average sound quality

Cons: You can't use the K3 with a Mac or for simple data storage. Touch-sensitive controls can be challenging to use. It has no on-device playlisting features and limited file-format support. Also, it has no video or recording features

Verdict: The Samsung YP-K3 may not be a Nano-killer, but it's definitely a solid choice for those who want a simple, sexy player that's not too hard on the wallet.

      Samsung YP-K3 (2GB)

      By Tim Gideon

Review summary: It came as no surprise when Samsung announced the YP-K3, a speakerless version of the much advertised K5 (the centerpiece of their MP3dom advertising campaign), at this year's CES. After all, the K5's speakers looked cool but seemed a bit superfluous. ...

Pros: Tiny, lightweight, and attractive. Attractive graphics. Excellent FM reception. "Resume" option is useful for podcast listening.

Cons: No video capabilities. No voice or radio recorder. Smudgy surface. Player can't be used while charging. Buttons are a bit too easy to activate accidentally.

Verdict: Though it's missing some of the extra features that come with the Samsung T9, the Samsung K3 is still a solid MP3 player and yet another rival for the affections of would-be Apple nano owners.
