      Samsung YP-Z5

      By Ross Catanzariti

Cons: Touchpad has some issues, Screen could be clearer, Lacks some other features (Radio, Recording etc.)

Verdict: This is the closest you'll get to an iPod killer. Its features are well implemented and designed and the end result is a fantastic MP3 player that perhaps just falls short due to the moody controls. A definite winner in our books.

      Samsung YP-Z5 MP3 Player

      By Sandra Vogel

Review summary: Sandra Vogel gets to grips with a slim flash based Samsung MP3 player to see if it can compete with the iPod nano.

Verdict: Overall, the YP-Z5 succeeds because it produces very good quality sound output, has a lovely screen, and you can drag and drop music and picture files from your PC. Its long battery life is the icing on what is already a very nice looking cake indeed. ...

      Samsung YP-Z5 (2GB) Review - MP3 Players

      By Chris Stevens, CNET.co.uk

Review summary: The YP-Z5 sounds clean and punchy. The touchpad needs an overhaul, but it's one of the first genuinely exciting MP3 players this year.

Pros: Best music transfer system of any MP3 player, Crisp, clean sound, Bright screen

Cons: Fiddly touchpad control, Non-standard USB connector

Verdict: Samsung has broken with convention by allowing the YP-Z5 to mount on any computer as a USB drive. It's a revelation. You don't need to install drivers, worry about DRM, stick to a single machine, or use a convoluted proprietary interface to transfer ...

      Samsung yepp YP-Z5

      By Mike Kobrin

Review summary: The Samsung Yepp YP-Z5 is part of the opening salvo from the non-Apple high-capacity flash player camp. This is no iPod nano-killer, but it does have some advantages, including better battery life, a bigger screen, and better photo-viewing ...

Pros: Very good battery life. Large screen. Good photo-viewing features. PlaysForSure-compatible

Cons: A bit thick. No on-the-fly playlists. No lossless support. No recording or FM tuner. Not UMS-compliant. Controls could be slightly more precise

Verdict: The Z5 offers long battery life and good photo-viewing capabilities. It may be the first PlaysForSure-compatible 4GB flash player, but it's still no iPod nano-killer.
