Bought this unit about 1 week ago, first downloads were in mp3 format and were a breeze. However the software is terrible. I used to test software for a living and I would have never allowed the Connect software to be released. It's riddled with bugs. Problems are more apparent if you try to download tracks as ATRAC3+ format. I suspect that reviews extolling the virtues of this player haven't tried some of the more advanced download formats. it's now 12:02 in the morning, I started trying a download of 624 tracks (ATRAC3+ format)at approx 8:30 The hard disc on the player is thrashing itself to pieces trying to maximise the space available. This is the second time I've tried. Last nights attempt resulted in 30 of the 624 tracks being available on the player, although the connnect software showed all 624 tracks. I'm now (finally) listening to some very good quality reproduction music even at 48kBs. My recommendation would be to stick to downloading as mp3 format or wait until Sony have fixed the useless software that accomanies this player or even try another player. One thing that no-one else seeems to have mentioned is that in sunlight you cannot see anything at all on the display other than a reflection of yourself. (Mine's silver by the way).
