Sony NW-E005F Walkman
By Mike Kobrin
Review summary: The Sony NW-E005F Walkman is a member of Sony's latest entry-level line of flash-based MP3 players, the E000 series, intended for digital audio newbies. It's basically a USB thumb drive that plays digital music files with a built-in FM tuner and a one ...
Pros: Very small and light. Good-quality earbuds included. Long battery life. Fast charging time. Integrated USB plug.
Cons: Audio glitch makes some music sound distorted and grainy. Button layout and size can cause difficult navigation for some users. No PlaysForSure support. No on-device playlist creating or editing.
Verdict: The NW-E005F is tiny and feather-light, has a built-in FM tuner, and supports lots of audio formats, but I'm not crazy about its buttons, interface, or annoying audio shortcomings.

Sony NW-E005 (2GB, violet) Reviews
By Jasmine France
Pros: The Sony NW-E000 features a stylish design with a handy built-in USB interface, and it offers some desirable features, such as an FM radio. It's also competitively priced.
Cons: Sony's requisite SonicStage software still leaves much to be desired, and the NW-E000's display is impossible to read in direct sunlight. This player's controls are also rather unintuitive.
Verdict: The Sony NW-E000 is a compact, stylish flash MP3 player that those who can tolerate SonicStage should consider, but beware the unintuitive interface.

Sony NW-E005 2GB
By Anonymous (07/05/2007)
- Pros: battery lifetime
- Cons: "some songs" tranferred CORRUPTED
I go to the point: the songs of my PRIVATE source are tranferred corrupted. and it's very annoying. Also you cannot move them to another computer. And you need both WMplayer and SonicStage as software. but when FINALLY you are able to transfer your ORIGINAL only songs in it, you can enjoy them for weeks! Just DON'T BUY ANY SONY!

Sony NW-E005 2GB
By Stewart Thomas (26/02/2007)
- Pros: Long battery life, portable, good capacity, great sound.
- Cons: Slight hiss on playback, not noticable 99% of the time.
The Sony NW-E005 gets my vote everytime! Very easy to use, brilliantly packaged. With the easy to use SonicStage software, fill this little beauty up with over 60 CDs in the mp3 format. Great capacity and superb battery stamina, you won't want to be without it.

Sony NW-E005 2GB
By Anonymous (03/10/2006)
- Pros: Excellent sound
- Cons: Dreadful, useless software
Impossible using Sony's software to transfer tracks from several CDs and determine the order of play.
Excellent if you like to listen to symphonies in random movement order. I sent this machine back for refund - not fit for purpose.
