      Panasonic TH42PZ85B Review - 42" 1080p Plasma HDTV

      Review summary: Hot on the heels of the TH42PX80 HD-ready plasma television I reviewed just last month, the Panasonic TH42PZ85B - boasting their Intelligent Frame Creation (IFC) and 24p Real Cinema technologies in addition to full HD native screen resolution of 1920 ...

      Pros: > Excellent blacks with no black level fluctuation in [Cinema] mode, > Full HD 1920x1080 native resolution delivers exquisite high-def detail, > Handles 1080p/24 video signal without telecine judder

      Cons: > [Intelligent Frame Creation] doesn't work as well as we'd like it to, > Cannot deinterlace film-based content properly, > No white balance control in user menu to calibrate greyscale

      Verdict: Although [Intelligent Frame Creation] may not win over many viewers, Panasonic TH42PZ85B delivers superb HD picture quality at an affordable price.

      Review summary: Great performance and superb value - the only slight downside is the tweaking you'll need to do to enjoy it at its best

      Pros: Stable, lustrous images ; build, finish and specification are all on the money ; half-decent sound

      Cons: Not the luxurious black levels we've enjoyed from other Pana plasmas
