InFocus Work Big IN24: Projecting the Right Image

      By M. David Stone

Review summary: The InFocus Work Big IN24 ($699 direct) is one of the better DLP-based business projectors I've seen for the price. The SVGA (800 by 600 dpi) native resolution is suitable for simple graphics and PowerPoint presentations. The image is reasonably ...

Pros: Reasonably bright image. Extraordinarily high contrast ratio. Affordable price. Unusually high-volume audio.

Cons: Native resolution is only SVGA (800 by 600 dpi). Remote mouse control is optional. Poor quality for full-motion video.

Verdict: The InFocus Work Big IN24 delivers a reasonably bright, high-quality image for presentations and has unusually good sound quality, but it drops the ball on video.

      InFocus LP70

      By Laurence Grayson

Review summary: Stunningly compact and lightweight bright for its size cooler and quieter than you'd expect.

Pros: Stunningly compact and lightweight bright for its size cooler and quieter than you'd expect

Cons: DLP engine causes strobing and flat colours awkward zoom ring blurring at the top of the projection and some difficulties with greyscale reproduction

Verdict: The diminutive LP70 is the perfect projector for mobile presenters who value portability above image quality.
