Excellent device and does work straight from the box. Nothing else really needed. If you want traffic info then it's phone connection and PLUS service subscription OR try the TMC attenna which uses radio RDS, a one off purchase, so will be cheaper long term. Unit can fail (blank screen) so may need resetting - not described in manual but can be done by inserting a pin into the reset hole (very small hole adjacent to the pin connectors) then recharge. Map detail of the UK is very good and includes more than sufficient for European travel (tried it recently: GB, F, B, NL, D, CH, FL, A, CZ). Camping site books starting to hold GPS locations so life made easier there too.
