  1. TomTom 510

TomTom GO 510 By Nik Adams (04/03/2007)
    • Pros: Easy to use, Multi-voltage ready
    • Cons: Poor customer service, Feedback to to tom - Very difficult

I bought the 510 US version while in Houston. I decided to test it out the 1st day and it had me going down streets the wrong way. Some addresses it does not recognise at all, even long standing addresses. This unit uses the same map supplier as Google (navteq) but google has more accurate information. I have never found ggogle to let me down whereas my 510 has several times. It is less accurate t... Read Full Review »

  3. Plug and Go

TomTom GO 510 By Boby Thomas (31/10/2006)
    • Pros: User friendly, wider touch screen, speed camera warnings
    • Cons: In-car charging unreliable

I bought this Tom Tom 510 after reading a lot of reviews of the GPS. For some reason I wanted just the Tom Tom rather than any other system (Probably because my friends had tom toms...but its worth while looking at other systems too before you buy this not so cheap piece of equipment). It is exactly as it says...plug and go. The interface is extremely user friendly. No funny business of set up, in... Read Full Review »

  4. TomTom510

TomTom GO 510 By Darren Palmer (25/08/2006)
    • Pros: very easy to use - user friendly
    • Cons: can take a while to pick up satellites sometimes

Bought it duty free at the airport - arrived in spain, turned it on, and sent us straight to the door at destination. Excellent user interface (what tomtom is famous for) extremely easy to use. Bluetooth mobile phone works fine with it and the preinstalled Fixed speed camera stuff does its job. The window mount is pretty good and the extra voices you can download can be a bit of fun.
All in all -... Read Full Review »

  5. Wider screen 500

TomTom GO 510 By Anonymous (15/08/2006)
    • Pros: Ease of use, Speed cameras, Map detail, POI (points of interest)
    • Cons: cost of extras - although what is in the box will suffice

Excellent device and does work straight from the box. Nothing else really needed. If you want traffic info then it's phone connection and PLUS service subscription OR try the TMC attenna which uses radio RDS, a one off purchase, so will be cheaper long term. Unit can fail (blank screen) so may need resetting - not described in manual but can be done by inserting a pin into the reset hole (very... Read Full Review »
